Francesco Castano's MuscleNow™ is a muscle building book which can help you get out of a training slump and make muscle mass gains EVERY WEEK. A cornerstone of MuscleNow is its total avoidance of supplements; all the muscle you gain will be completely natural, coming from hard work and proper nutrition.
This was a BIG plus for me. Francesco emphasizes the importance of diet and a good workout plan in boosting muscle gain, and teaches you how to do this safely and effectively without falling for any supplement company scams. MuscleNow can work for anyone, whether you want to bulk up or lose fat.
The 105 page, step-by-step program, is straight forward and pretty easy to follow. Muscle Now comes with an online and hard copy version of Castano’s book. It focuses on a balance of training and diet to maximise your results, avoid plateaus, and make sure you make WEEKLY improvements. Muscle Now consists of complete workout programs descriptions with multiple workouts (although there are no pictures accompanying the exercise descriptions, which would be beneficial for the beginner) you can choose from depending on your goals, lifestyle and the amount of time you're willing to commit to getting more muscle.
The course includes workout plan charts on which you can record details of your training and progress, and sample bodybuilding diet plans demonstrating the step-by-step instructions, including diet and calorie charts. You will finally learn the EXACT bodybuilding diet and workout plan necessary for muscle gain and fat loss; one of the big problems people face is the fat gain which seems to accompany muscle gain. One issue I had with the diet section is that the focus was completely on protein and carb intake; fat was ignored. This is a problem as fat intake is also important.
MuscleNow teaches you to avoid putting on fat, and gain muscle or lose fat (whatever your goal is) on a weekly basis. There are a number of training plans offered allowing you to tailor your workout to your schedule: Castano provides four workout variations to choose from, one each for three, four or five days in the gym and a condensed three-day a week.
You also get lifetime personal email training from Francesco himself; you can ask ANY question you want and get a fast, personal response. Or you can ask questions in the MuscleNow member’s area, to which you also get lifetime free access to. Another bonus I loved was the inclusion of a set of free body fat callipers; not many other programmes do this. They can be a very important tool for physique change and actually putting them in the hands of a trainer has value much beyond their retail cost.
Although the cost may be a little steep for some, I think the biggest positive to the MuscleNow program are the bonuses, like the fat callipers, the lifetime email support and a generous money back guarantee. I also like the fact that Francesco doesn’t focus on using supplements; being able to put on muscle without them will definitely save you some money!
MuscleNow is a good, balanced programme suitable for beginner to intermediate levels of experience. You can use it to gain muscle or to lose fat; the programme covers both goals very well. The bonuses are great, and the all-natural approach is refreshing! The only drawbacks I found were the high price tag and the confusing website. However, MuscleNow is still a great way to improve your physique naturally and consistently!
Conclusion:
A decent programme, but not on the same level as other products. The diet and nutrition information wasn’t detailed enough, and the website was very poorly designed. I also thought the price was a little expensive when compared with other guides on the market. If you want to burn fat and build muscle, I’d say Tom Venuto’s Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle is a better choice.
